What is T1 Transit Procedure?
The T1 (external Community transit) procedure allows non-Community goods to be transported within EU territory without paying customs duties and other charges during transit. Payment obligation arises only at the final destination.
When is T1 Needed?
T1 transit procedure should be applied:
- For goods from third countries (e.g., UK) forwarded within EU
- For goods transported from EU ports to customs warehouses
- For goods forwarded from airports to domestic customs offices
- For shipments passing through transit countries

The transit declaration must contain:

- Gross and net weight
- Departure and destination customs offices
- Carrier information
- Guarantee number
Guarantee Requirement
A guarantee is required for T1 procedure, covering potential customs and tax liabilities. Guarantee types:

- Comprehensive guarantee - for multiple use
- Waiver - for authorized businesses
Closure Obligation
The T1 procedure must be closed at the destination customs office. Failure to do so results in guarantee utilization and possible penalties.
